From Routes to AI: Using Installed Analog Accelerometers for Digital Vibration Monitoring

CBM CONNECT |

Webinar Description:

Permanently installed accelerometers are often tied to the systems they were originally installed to support, whether for route-based data collection or a dedicated condition monitoring system. This can leave valuable vibration data isolated from newer digital monitoring, AI, automation, and connected manufacturing applications. However, bringing vibration data into modern systems doesn’t always require replacing the existing sensing layer. Analog accelerometers can be digitized and made available to a much broader range of systems.

This webinar will show you how to evaluate whether existing accelerometers and infrastructure can remain in service and what can replace the portable data collector or existing acquisition layer. We’ll explore how digitized vibration data can support continuous monitoring and modern connected platforms. We’ll also discuss what this transition means for vibration professionals, including the vital role of in-house teams and service providers who continue to analyze, report, maintain, and add value as monitoring becomes more continuous and automated.

Learning Takeaways:

  1. How to convert permanently installed accelerometers into continuous digital data sources without replacing the sensing layer
  2. How digitizing vibration signals frees data from a standalone CMS for use in digital twins, machine learning applications, factory automation, enterprise applications, and other connected systems
  3. How AI vibration monitoring changes, rather than replaces, the role of vibration professionals and service providers
