Description:

It is very common for failure modes to be identified which are nothing to do with bearings and rotating machines. Within the world of bearings, it is generally regarded that lubrication failure is the largest single initiator of failure. We also know that there are defects which do not follow the classic, much-quoted, P-F curve – defects for which trending has little use. If we know all of these things, what are we doing about them? This presentation reviews how useful Ultrasound can be to help you implement a broad-ranging improvement strategy.

Learning Takeaways:

1) Not all failures rotate

2) Ultrasound is great for detecting Friction, Impacting and Turbulence

3) Ultrasound inspections can be quite simple
