Summary 
Once considered only a leak detector, airborne & structure-borne ultrasound has become a must have technology for condition monitoring. Because of advancements in instruments, software, and reporting, more people are using ultrasound for both mechanical and electrical inspection applications. This presentation will deliver information on using ultrasound for mechanical inspections including bearings and condition based lubrication to prevent over/under lubrication of bearings. Information will also be presented on using ultrasound to inspect energized electrical equipment. Report examples will be shown including a compressed air/gas leak cost report, bearing alarm reports, and a 4 image report that incorporates ultrasound data and data from complementary technologies such as infrared and vibration.

About the Presenter
Mr. Waetjen has been with UE Systems Inc. since 1988. He has lectured about the technology of Airborne / Structure borne Ultrasound in most of the industrialized world, published numerous technical articles, and has been instrumental in the program implementation of Ultrasound for multiple companies worldwide. In addition to his efforts to educate and lecture, Mr. Waetjen is the Vice President of Global Operations for UE Systems, with direct responsibility for 15 offices in the U.S., offices in Canada, Mexico, Hong Kong, Holland, and India/Middle East. Mr. Waetjen is also a part of UE Systems training development team.
