IRISS focuses on research, development, design and manufacturing of Electrical Maintenance Safety Devices that are used worldwide for electrical inspections as part of condition-based maintenance (CBM) programs. While our history started with infrared (IR) window technology, we are dedicated to expanding our product portfolio to include ultrasound solutions. Ultrasound, as a CBM technique, is highly complementary to infrared inspections when used on electrical assets. Arcing, tracking and corona all emit sound in the ultrasound spectrum that are detected by ultrasound listening devices. Other mechanical applications are leak detection, steam trap testing and motor bearing testing. In 2016, IRISS decided to pursue ultrasound solutions to broaden the CBM offering for our customers.
