Weyerhaeuser’s Montana Wood Products is currently looking for a Lubrication Technician to join our Columbia Falls Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) facility. A qualified candidate would have a thorough comprehensive knowledge of preventative maintenance, reliability and processes and techniques to safely maintain lubrication of the facilities high-tech manufacturing equipment.

Position Details
The Lubrication Technician at MDF maintains lubrication of equipment based on NLGI standards to eliminate lubrication reliability downtime. In addition, this role is required to analyze lubrication needs specific to equipment. Manage and maintain inventory necessary to perform repair and maintenance associate with lubrication of equipment.

As a Lubrication Technician at Columbia Falls MDF, you will have the opportunity to:
Ensure that all equipment is lubricated to meet NLGI standards/OEM specifications.
Conduct oil analysis (checking for metal fragments, moisture content and other contaminants).
Diagnose bearing and wear surface failure and set action plans to correct failures.
Maintain all gearboxes to operating levels and notify Millwright Lead of any leaking seals or excessive noise.
Maintain cleanliness ISO standards for all hydraulic units, pull oil samples semi-annually and document results.
Manage an inventory of filters and repair/spare parts
Maintain auto lubrication lines, including plumbing and inspection for damaged or leaking fittings.
Maintain all air compressors, air dryers, oil coolers / heat exchangers and manage oil analysis records as required.
Use maintenance software (SAP) for writing work orders and creating requisitions
Maintain lubrication cabinets, tools, and equipment.
Work with other millwrights, leads or supervisors who have priority work needing to be completed.

Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent is required
Formalized/technical training is preferred

Experience
Three or more years of experience as a Lubrication Technician strongly preferred
Experience with equipment maintenance preferred
Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Experience in the Wood Products industry preferred
MLT-I Certification or better preferred

Specific Skills
Demonstrated understanding of basics of NLGI knowledge, how to tell the difference between basic lubricants and what they are used for according to NLGI standards.
Ability to pass Level 1 Machinery Lubricant Technician Exam (MLT I) or the Level 1 Machinery Lubrication Analyst Exam (MLA I) as provided by the international Council of Machinery Lubrication within one year
Ability to recognize deficiencies in alignments, bearings, etc.
Knowledge and troubleshooting of pneumatic, hydraulic, piping, and material transfer systems.
Knowledge of bearings, lubrication, and power transmission
Ability to work with vendors to manage inventory and maintain inventories
Knowledge of LOTO procedures and ability to conduct adequate RADAR risk assessments
Understanding of the Fire Protection System and knowledge of fire brigade procedures and positions
Knowledge and ability to use Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
Ability to pass Job Safety Analysis (JSA) standards
Ability to work closely with supervisors and other departments; be a team player/leader; good communication skills, and demonstrate positive attitude
Willingness to work any shift, work overtime and weekends
Maintain a clean workstation, and exhibit good performance, safety and attendance records
Be meticulous, clean neat and orderly. Lubrication process is one that attention to detail is crucial and organization skills are a priority.
