Rich started his career in 1989, developing an oil analysis lab and maintenance reliability programs at the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Rich holds certifications as CLS, MLA-II, MLT-II, LLA-II and ASNT PdM Level III in Infrared. He has published over 50 technical papers and peer-reviewed scientific journals and serves on the Board of Directors of the International Council for Machinery Lubrication (ICML).

Under his leadership, MRG Labs was founded in 2007, and has become recognized as a global leader in grease analysis technology. Rich holds two US patents and has helped develop several international standards for grease sampling and analysis.
